Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and the dancers of the Göteborg Opera

The Belgian choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, 41 years, is an outstanding figure in the contemporary dance world. In order to present his diptyque, he selected 19 dancers from the Göteborg Opera, to deepen his quest about religions and beliefs, secular or sacred. Throughout ICON, the artists change paradigm like shirts, in a mobile decor imagined by the brilliant sculptor Antony Gormley. At Noetic, the same dancers whirl in a carbone fiber universe, where our instinctive need to structure our existence contrasts within the same mouvement our wish to liberate ourselves from regulations.
